Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. (Psalm 19:1-4)
Can we see God? Is there a way that we can look around our world and see Him, or evidence of Him? Some would most likely say ‘Yes’, and others ‘No’.
When you look into the sky, do the stars tell you that there is something greater out there, and that some incredible Power must have been involved to create such grandeur? Or do you see a cosmic accident that just happens to also be incredibly beautiful to behold?
What about looking down into the human body – down to the microscopic level that shows the inner workings of our cells? Do you see an amazing and intelligent ‘factory’ of micro-machines with a purpose? Or do you see an evolved system that has come to be through the ‘survival of the fittest’?
Well, I’m not here to tell you that you’re looking at things right or wrong. I will, however, say that I believe every word of the Bible is true, and that I believe and am convinced that God created the world we live in, the universe around us, and every cell in my being. And He did so for a purpose.
When I was younger, I tried very hard not to believe there was a God – mostly, I think, because if there was a God, then there was judgment – if judgment, then Hell – if Hell, then I was in big trouble! I spent years telling people that I didn’t believe in God, even though deep inside I didn’t believe a word I was saying. When I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, it was much like admitting something that I really knew was true all along.
I can’t speak to what other’s believe, but God can. And God says that others also have the truth all around them, and that if they deny it, they are without excuse. Don’t deny the truth – embrace the God that created you for a purpose, and live the rest of your life working to fulfill it. In fulfilling your purpose, you will find yourself fulfilled as well.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)
