Think about this - if Jesus wanted to be glorified and served, He would have stayed on the Throne. He was seated with the Father, with legions of angels all around. Why would Jesus leave here if His goal was to be served and adored?
What Jesus came here for is to do the will of the Father. What the Father sent Him here for is to save humankind from themselves. Jesus had to leave the Throne room, and bring the Kingdom to earth in bodily form. He had to take on human flesh and attributes and become one of us to become the Sacrifice we needed.
We are completely unable to save ourselves. What can you do to keep yourself from death? The answer is NOTHING. We are all full of sin – all of us. Look at what Psalm 14 says:
The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
They have all turned aside,
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one.
God looked down on us and saw that we are sinful beings with no hope of ever becoming worthy to see Him. But He wanted us to know Him so much, an incredible plan was put in place. God would redeem His children the only way possible to make them Holy and Righteous. This could only be done by becoming the Perfect, Sinless Human – the only One who could become a worthy sacrifice.
Thank you, Jesus, for leaving Your Throne and taking the punishment that we deserved!
