When we start going anywhere without Jesus, there is no protection from the storms that will surely come. But even in the midst of the storm, it is not too late to cry out to Him for guidance and protection.
By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. (John 6:17-18)
Even if a believer does not cry out to Him during the storms of life, He will still be there. Remember, He promised to never leave us! Of course, we may not always realize it, or even recognize what He is doing in the midst of our struggles.
When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened. But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.” Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading. (John 6:19-21)
No matter the situation, when we cry out to our Savior, He is sure to answer. When we put our hope and trust in Him, we will find ourselves heading toward the right destination.
