An example from the high-tech industry: a blank circuit board starts the line and components get added along the way. As the product nears completion, various tests will be run to make sure the parts are all there, that they are properly loaded and secured, and that the circuit is complete and functioning as expected per the design.
Also depending on the design of the finished product, some products will have more extensive testing than others. It always goes back to the intentions and expectations of the designer.
Hopefully you see parallels between the above and our lives. We too are WIP – work in process. We also are being built up, and there are various tests along the way that determine our state of completeness. Each of us are tested based on the perfect plan and intentions of our Designer.
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
Some will go through deeper testing than others depending on the expectations the Designer has for each of us. But regardless, the Designer does have a plan for us, or He would not have bothered designing us in the first place.
Be assured when the tests come – the Designer knows what stage of WIP we are in, and exactly what the finished product will be - even when we don’t.
