Jesus said this to Peter, but it’s really true of us all. Even those of us who desire to follow the Lord fall sometimes, because our flesh is weak. Earthly desires come and wash over our flesh, at times drowning out the voice of the Spirit. We fail, and then feel terrible – because the flesh is weak.
But just as Jesus restored Peter when he repented, the same offer is available to us! If we have a willing spirit and repentant heart, we too can be brought back into the loving care of the Father.
Psalm 91 says we will be safe when we seek His protection.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:2)
Seek Him today with a willing spirit and see what God can do to your heart. The flesh is weak, but our God is strong!
Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws;
our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. (Isaiah 26:8)
Praise God!
