For the perpetrators, they have a heinous crime they committed against the innocent. This is a grievous sin for which they must repent. Even horrific acts are not beyond our God’s Grace, but it must be bestowed through humility and repentance.
For the victims - they woke up that morning not knowing this would be the day their lives would end. That’s often how it happens. A car wreck, sudden illness or unspeakable tragedy meets us unaware, and - if we haven’t made our peace with the Creator already - we may never get the chance.
This too is a grievous thing that happens all too often. In fact, the biggest tragedy any person can have is to die without a relationship with Christ. We must be sharing what we know about Jesus to those around us! Who knows if the seeds we plant will grow, but it is on us to spread the message.
But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved. (Ezekiel 33:9)
