what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes says there is “Nothing new under the sun” - and he is right. But, there comes a day when something really new will arise. Because while there may be nothing new under the sun, everything becomes new under the Son!
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” (Revelations 21:1-5)
You see, when Jesus returns, everything will be made new. The sun and everything under it will be gone, and we will find ourselves once and forever under the Son!
The sun will no more be your light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
for the Lord will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory. (Isaiah 60:19)
