He (Jesus) did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person. (John 2:25)
The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)
The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart
and examine the mind” (Jeremiah 17:9-10)
If someone says the Bible isn’t relevant in today’s world read them this:
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God -- having a form of godliness but denying its power. (2 Timothy 3:2-5)
I would argue that this statement from 2000 years ago describing the latter days is describing our current state of affairs all too accurately – and I find myself both reassured (due to God’s great wisdom), and terrified (due to the depravity of man).
