Our hearts are the same way! We can’t remove the past - we must plow them and plant anew. Use the dead things of the past to propel us into a better place, where the good Seed of Christ can take root. This is job requires patient saints, and it often takes many hands to accomplish.
One turns the soil while another conditions. One plants the seed while another adds water. The Son provides His Light to what was once dead, spurring new growth.
Just remember, the harder and more neglected the soil you start with, the longer it will take to prepare. But once the good seed takes root, what a harvest can be gained if the Master Gardener is involved!
Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the LORD's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the LORD's coming is near. (James 5:7-8)
