All of us go the same way eventually – to eternity. Where we spend eternity is ours to choose while on this earth.
Joshua was the protégé of Moses, and a great leader of the Israelites. My sister was a beautiful and simple wife and mother. Both were giants of the faith in their own way. Joshua died at the ripe old age of 110, while my sister never made it to 50. But they both had this in common – they chose their God wisely.
Joshua spoke of God’s faithfulness to encourage thousands; my sister spoke to family and friends. Both are important tasks in God’s Kingdom.
Each of us has a choice to make – nobody can make it for us, and none can take it away. I rejoice that like Joshua, my sister chose her God with wisdom. I pray that each of you choose today who you will serve!
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15b)
