The worst thing ever is to die only if you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior. If you have accepted Him, death is probably the best thing ever!
As a Believer, the worst thing is to know someone that doesn’t know Christ, and fail to point them towards the finished work of the Cross. The oft-used analogy is true, that it would be akin to having the cure for cancer in your hand and not letting people know… except it’s actually much worse than that. A person can die of cancer and still spend eternity with no disease, tears, or sadness – but only if they know the cure!
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? (Romans 10:14)
I suggest that not telling a lost soul how to be saved is a more egregious sin than any other. And make no mistake – we will be judged for how and when we choose to act, and also when we choose not to act.
When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself. (Ezekiel 3:18-19)
