On October 31st they dressed up (in burlap and ashes, which probably made them look a lot more like zombies than a Captain America). So, was this the first church-sponsored Halloween party? Of course we know it was not - it’s just an ironic coincidence. Clearly, if it was actually the first church-sponsored Halloween party, it would have included ‘Trunk-or-Treat’, right?
They confessed their sins, read His word, and worshipped God - we should spend our Halloween this way! No evil can stand against a body of disciples in deep worship of the Lord!
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
Let’s spend October 31st - and every day – on our knees, worshipping the only One who can save us from this present darkness!
