Our lives may sometimes seem small and insignificant. We sometimes trudge through this life, feeling there is nothing worthy or important in our daily routine. As we near the end of our life here, we may feel that it is all for naught. In reality, what may seem like a simple ending here can become the very beginning of something glorious.
All things are created to honor and glorify our Maker. An acorn does this by following God’s plan and becoming a beautiful oak tree – one that brings shade and shelter to others and creates as many other oak trees as possibly by dropping little acorns as far as its reach allows. The mighty oak doesn’t concern itself with what happens to the acorns, for its glory comes in scattering the seeds and allowing the Maker to let them grow as He wills.
I honor my Creator by becoming a useful and obedient instrument – one that brings light and love to others and sows the Master Gardener’s seeds as far as my reach allows. I have no control over what happens to the seeds, but only that I am faithful in scattering them and allowing the Master to tend them. They will not all grow, but none are wasted. Those that grow will grow abundantly, to the glory of the Creator.
“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (Matthew 13:8)
