they grow and bear fruit.
You are always on their lips
but far from their hearts. (Jeremiah 12:2)
The prophet Jeremiah complained to God…he sees the wicked prosper, and he hears them speak of the Lord, but he knows they don’t mean a word of it.
What he finds out is that while they may prosper for a time, the end is not good! God understands that short-term gain on this earth is nothing unless used for His Glory. When we are monetarily or materially blessed, it is to be used as seed to sow. Those that selfishly hoard their wealth are in direct conflict with God’s intentions.
Some of us are incredibly blessed, while others struggle for their next meal. Those that are blessed are beholden to God and their fellow man and must use what’s been given them. I’m not saying we must give away everything, but if we are not giving more than we are comfortable with I’m certain we are not using our blessings as God wants.
If you believe there is a reason for everything, then please understand the reason for your blessings is for you to be a blessing to others.
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
