I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.” (Psalm 46:10)
Some people may read this and think about sitting quietly in a dark room alone, peacefully listening for God’s small still voice. But to “be still and know” doesn’t necessarily mean you have to just sit and meditate – not that there is anything wrong with that.
You can be still and find peace in your mind while running on the treadmill of life. Look, there is certainly nothing wrong with quietly meditating and spending time communing with God – it’s a wonderful and important thing to do!
All I’m saying is that life often doesn’t give us a lot of those opportunities. So by all means, take them when you can, and make a purposeful effort to spend that ‘downtime’ with God. But even in the middle of the Rat Race, you can have the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Still your mind when the world around you is hectic. Ask the Lord to lay His Peace on you when life is haywire. You don’t always have to physically stop to be inwardly still.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
