Not one of them is forgotten – isn't that amazing? I mean, think about this: how many sparrows have died since the very first one was created? God knew and cared for them all!
Just a bit later, Jesus tells us: “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?” (Luke 12:24)
Whom among us would equate human value with that of a raven? God certainly doesn’t, as Jesus clearly states here.
And again 3 verses later, He says: “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?” (Luke 12:27-28)
God intimately knows every one of His creations. And - being outside of time - He can spend as long as He wants caring and watching over each and every one of them. Remember: "Not one of them is forgotten" – that’s a fact!
And in God’s economy, it is clear that we are of so much more value than any of these – after all, sparrows, ravens, and lilies are not made in His image – only we are!
So feel special today – God loves and cares for you more than any other!
