There is something unexplainable about this walk we have with the Spirit. When I feel most ‘in tune’ with God’s leading, I can see and feel Him all around me, wherever I look. But for those that have not accepted Christ as their Lord, they cannot understand this.
This is why it’s so important for us to be Christ’s Ambassadors here on earth! We must always try and point to Jesus, so that even if they can’t see or feel Him for themselves, they can get glimpses of Him through us. When I look at your hands and feet, I can understand some things – do you work with your hands or are they soft and supple? Are your feet calloused or scarred or do they look like they are pampered?
So we, as the hands and feet of our Lord, are to show the world our callouses, our scars, and our beauty. All of these things should point people to the one we live for. As the writer of Hebrews says, we must “work at living a holy life” – not only for ourselves, but for those around us who otherwise might never see the Lord!
When we are pointing the way to Jesus, we are keeping the focus off of us and onto the only One who is Worthy. Like the snake lifted up in the wilderness that the Israelites would look to and be healed, so we must always lift up the name and wonderful works of our Lord, so that others may see Him through us.
