In the beginning of time, when the Word of God was creating everything we see, there was a beautiful and prophetic symbol provided to us. First, this symbol of a seed reminds us of the most powerful Seed ever sown.
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. (Galatians 3:16)
Second, that Seed called Jesus Christ - sown into the ground to defeat Death and the Grave for each of us – also “yields seed according to its kind”. We know that we will be like Him, which is an amazing promise!
Third, both the initial seed and the One Holy Seed were established on the Third Day. As no one truly understands how a presumably dead seed can create new life when planted in the ground, so we also cannot truly understand just what happened when our God Seed was planted. What we do know, is that it was God’s plan…. He is the Gardener, after all!
Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:44-47)
