And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” (Exodus 33:17)
David was a mighty King, as well as an adulterous murderer. Yet God loved him and used him to lead His people:
God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ (Acts 13:22b)
Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived - and he still didn’t seem able to follow God’s most basic instructions.
“You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. (1 Kings 11:2)
And to all of this I say - “Thank God”! It is wonderful news that He uses murderers, adulterers, and fools to do the work of His Kingdom. This simply means that He can use people like us!
Don’t think that because you’ve ‘blown it’ that God doesn't love you and won't still use you. Remember all the people God has used in the past, and thank God that He will use screw-ups like us!
