The problem comes when we try and assign worth based on our own actions. We remember the mistakes, the bad decisions and downright awful acts of sin we have committed. How can we ever feel worth-y when remembering our actions makes us feel worth-less?
It’s clear then that we have to look elsewhere - and there has ever and only been One who saw something so good, so valuable, so worthwhile in us that He was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our souls. Our worth can never be of great value when viewed through the lens of self. It is through Christ that value comes, for He is of ultimate value. He alone is worthy, and only through a relationship with Him can our true worth be seen.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. (1 Peter 3:18)
He is righteous; we are unrighteous. But through His sacrifice, we are made righteous! Our worth is great when seen through the eyes of Christ. The fact is, Jesus finds us so valuable that He will pay any price, go to any length, and give His very life to prove what we are worth to Him.
And through Him we are filled with a worth that is unlike anything we could achieve on our own. Read this, believe it, and own it.
