“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”
(Revelation 3:8 NKJV)
Jesus is speaking here to the “faithful church” in Philadelphia. But in reality, this is what He asks of us all. We all have but little strength; yet if we keep His word, and do not deny Him, we too are given an "open door" to share the truth of His Love and Grace with those around us!
And even more is promised to the faithful of God:
“Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”
(Revelation 3:9 NKJV)
Those who follow the evil ways of this world will be plainly shown in that Great Day that we who are faithful truly do belong to our Lord! Now, I don’t know how I feel about the statement that others will “come and worship before your feet”, but that they will be unable to deny that Jesus is the Christ and I am His follower…. That is a great promise!
But these promises come also with a dire warning:
“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”
(Revelation 3:11 NKJV)
Don't give up until the end! Persevere until the King comes for His own! Dear children, don't lose your crown in Heaven for the lies of this world!
These are promises and warnings that we can be sure of from the end of time, to those of us who live in this fallen world and call Jesus our Lord and Savior.
