For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. (John 12:43)\
On the rare occasion that I actually do something worthy of praise, it is most likely to be attributed to a gift from my Father above. After all, we know that all good gifts come from Him, and if I am using one of the gifts that He has kindly given to me then isn't it better to then redirect the praise where it truly belongs – to the Giver of all good things?
And if your good deeds go unnoticed, that too is fine. We are not put on this earth to bask in our own glory, but to glorify the Lord. If the things that I’m doing for His Kingdom happen without an earthly witness, it still gets noticed by the One that matters.
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)
