I will constantly speak his praises.
2 I will boast only in the Lord;
let all who are helpless take heart.
3 Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness;
let us exalt his name together.
Praise the Lord, boast only in Him, and tell of His greatness! Can you see that this is a sure-fire recipe for a joy-filled life?
Of course, I don’t know about you, but I find it difficult to “praise the Lord at all times”. It’s not that He isn’t always deserving of my praise – of course He is! It’s that this mortal coil that holds me has a focus issue. What can I do to stay focused?
4 I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
Pray, and pray some more… I find that as I grow in my relationship with Jesus, I pray to Him more often. And this is not necessarily the ‘get down on your knees, bow your head, and clasp your hands’ prayer (although I do that sometimes). I’m talking about carrying on an ongoing conversation with the Lord with my inner thoughts – praying within the deepest part of me, regardless of my surroundings.
6 In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.
7 For the angel of the Lord is a guard;
he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
Pray to the Lord, look to Him for help! He listens – He saves! Can’t you see that when the angel of the Lord is guarding you, there is nothing to fear? And when you are in prayer to Him, know that you are heard, and loved, and watched over.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
Yes, that sums it up nicely!
