But when the One who is the true Light brings His Glory to shine down on me, my only response is to praise Him:
Oh Light of the World!
You are truly too great and beyond my understanding.
I stand as in a dark place – your light reveals the best and worst in me; there is nowhere I can hide!
I am undone in Your Presence, and only by accepting all that Your Brightness reveals and running toward Your Light can I be cleansed.
Teach me Lord – show me the way to draw closer to Your Light.
I walk through both light and darkness in this life, from good to bad, from holiness to filthiness.
The human side of me strives for evil, even as my spirit longs for healing.
But You are so good, my Rock and Salvation!
You are the One who is not just holy, but I must call out “Holy, Holy, Holy are You Lord!”
My words cannot express what I find in You, my Lord; yet I must speak of Your Greatness, for my tongue cannot resist!
Your light was there from the beginning, as was Your plans for me.
I am overwhelmed and amazed that You have a plan and a place for me in Your Kingdom, yet I know Your Promises never fail!
You, my Prince, show me goodness.
Before I knew or understood anything, You were already working in my heart through Your precious Spirit.
Your royalty is even being passed down to me and all my brothers and sisters who follow You, through no works of mine, but solely by Your Goodness, Mercy, and Grace!
I can never repay this great Gift; I can only praise my King and Savior!
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5)
