I love the fact that Easter Sunday and April Fool’s land on the same day this year. How ironic is it that the very event that non-Christians think we are fools for believing (that Christ rose from the grave) is landing on a day to celebrate foolishness?
I ask you – who is foolish among us? Those of us who have experienced a regeneration of our spirits when we accept Christ? Those of us who believe something that almost all serious historians cannot refute? Those of us who see the need for Christ and His Love to be spread throughout this sick and twisted world?
Or are the foolish the ones who feel they are too wise to ‘believe in fairy tales’? Never mind the fact that evidence abounds for those who honestly seek it. Never mind that millions of hearts have been turned to good by the saving power of Christ. Never mind the hospitals, missions, and charities that developed throughout history because of God’s people…
Thanks just the same, but this April Fool’s day (and every day) I’ll take the ‘fool’ who pursues love, lives in hope, and develops the fruit of the Spirit, over the ‘wise’ that think whatever ‘feels right’ for you is fine, and don’t believe human life is of any intrinsic worth…
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
