He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20)
Who are your companions? Do you profess Christ but spend all your time around those who do not? While it’s impossible to avoid being part of the world, we are called to shine our light to others, not to let the world change us.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)
Fellowship with other believers is paramount to our walk – they help us grow. Another believer can understand us in ways that an unbeliever simply cannot. Don’t miss out on fellowship with other believers – it is a God-approved activity.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
