your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you.” (Isaiah 44:22)
My wife is able to really make the most out of coupons – she collects and uses them to get the best possible deal she can. However, sometimes the expiration date sneaks up on her, and she pulls out a coupon only to find that it is no longer valid. A coupon either gets redeemed. or it doesn’t. Once the expiration date has passed, there is no value left in the offer, and the coupon may as well be discarded.
In an analogous way, our souls will either be redeemed, or they will not. There are simply and only two options available – either we finish life on this earth as a sinner redeemed, or we finish as a sinner condemned.
What will it be? Do we redeem this offer while it’s available, or let it expire along with our souls? Don’t wait – this is a better offer than any you will get in the mail, at a store, or anywhere else… the value of your soul cannot be spoken of in dollars or percentages. There is an eternal soul within us, and once we have finished this life, it will be too late to change our path.
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19a)
