It’s very easy to find someone that doesn’t agree with us, isn't it? Sometimes, we can ‘agree to disagree’ and move on... Sometimes, not so much… Even when we don’t agree with someone, we should still accept them.
We can’t expect everyone to see everything the way we do – everyone has their own perspective on life, shaped by their own upbringing, surroundings, life experiences, and so on.
Even those who are of the family of Christ - our brothers and sisters in the faith - will not always agree. What really matters is that we agree that Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. That there is no other Name by which we must be saved. These are immutable truths – there are many other things that are not. And even if someone doesn’t agree with the immutable truths we hold close, how will we ever get them to see those truths for what they are if we don’t accept them as they are first?
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. (Romans 15:7)
This verse says that Christ accepted us to give His Father glory. It also says that we should receive one another for the same reason. Never forget: Christ accepted us, loved us, and died for us before we accepted Him.
Christ received us for God's glory - we should do the same to those around us!
