Does completing that project you’re working on at school, work, or home have eternal significance? What about the next meal?
I would say that it’s likely none of these have eternal significance – and at the same time I would also say that each of them can have. What makes something of eternal significance is who you are doing it for. Are you doing it for your own pleasure, or out of obligation? Or are you doing it for God and the furtherance of His Kingdom?
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
The other thing that has eternal significance is our praise to the Lord. When we praise God, we acknowledge what He has done in our lives. Praising our King reminds us that He alone is worthy. Oh, what He has done!
When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions. (Psalm 65:3)
Whatever you do, remember Who you are doing it for. And when you praise Him, remember what He is preparing for those who love Him. This will lead to a praise-filled, purpose-led life.
