As I leaned against the ‘Wailing Wall’ and prayed to my Lord, I realized that I may be standing in a place where You may have stood; even touching a place that You may have touched. And yet, at that moment I was also reminded that You touched me years ago. You formed me in the womb and have been with me throughout my life.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” (Jeremiah 1:5a)
As I considered the great temple made by man to a Holy God, I remembered that You say I am to be Your temple now. As I look upon and touch the ruins of 2000 years ago, I am reminded that You are the cornerstone that is laid in my heart and cannot be moved.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
An unforgettable trip to a Holy Land 10,000 miles away was a great reminder that our God is close to us, wherever we may go.
